One of the many benefits of building your own computers is that you generally know how to repair them when stuff goes wrong. On Friday night, I was in the middle of uploading some photos to my online proofing area when my graphics card junked out on me. I figured that was the problem right away, but it was late in the evening and now I had to wait until morning when MicroCenter would open to get a new one. Thankfully, I had been working my tail off all week to get some editing done and the forced night off from anything super important was a little bit of relief. This left me with a bit of a dilemma though…do I buy a cheap one and just get me by, or do I buy a nicer one that I can use in a new computer build I have planned for this summer.
In keep with my style…..I went with the nicer one and I’m totally glad I did. So now I’m back in business again and have no excuses for farting around today.
The old junked one on the left, the new fast one on the right. When I bought it, I didn’t realize the size difference was that much..but I have a pretty beefy case, so no problems there.
